Digital Tools Reduce Administrative Burden on Queensland Teachers

New technological initiatives are being implemented to reduce administrative tasks for teachers in Queensland state schools, with a goal of cutting red tape by 25 per cent by 2028. Recent measures include the expansion of the Corella artificial intelligence tool across all state schools, which is estimated to save teachers three to five hours per week on lesson planning and administration.

A new Behaviour Insights Dashboard has been introduced to automate data analysis regarding student behavior, helping school staff manage classroom dynamics more efficiently. Early indicators suggest this tool saves up to an hour of manual work daily for school personnel. Additionally, the Employee Housing System has simplified the management of teacher residences, saving schools approximately 6,000 hours of administrative work annually.

Other updates include streamlined software in OneSchool, improved access to MyHR systems, and new guidelines for travel and student activities safety. These changes are part of a broader effort to allow educators to focus more on teaching and curriculum leadership rather than bureaucratic processes.
