Synergy has selected Vestas to construct the King Rocks Wind Farm in Western Australia’s south west. The project is expected to begin generating renewable energy for homes and businesses by 2027.
The site will feature 17 wind turbines with a total capacity of 105 megawatts. The energy produced will be enough to power around 70,000 average homes each year. Construction will create about 200 jobs, delivering a boost to regional communities.
The project will receive $513 million in State funding. It forms part of a broader effort to expand Western Australia’s renewable energy network. Synergy is also progressing large-scale battery projects in Kwinana and Collie to store and stabilise renewable power.
King Rocks Wind Farm represents another step in diversifying the State’s energy system. The project combines clean power generation with local job creation and supports the shift toward a low-emission energy future.
