A new health and learning hub has opened in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. The centre will train thousands of students each year in modern, industry-standard facilities.
The Integrated Health and Technology Learning Hub at Swinburne University of Technology’s Wantirna campus will host around 3,000 students annually. Courses include nursing, individual support, and community services. Many of these programs are part of the Free TAFE initiative.
The hub features clinical training rooms, digital learning spaces, and a simulated home care room. Each area is fitted with advanced technology that mirrors real healthcare environments. Students will gain practical skills to prepare them for work in hospitals, aged care, and community health settings.
Healthcare and social assistance are among the fastest-growing industries in Victoria. More than 86,000 new workers are expected to join the sector by 2027. The new hub will help meet this demand by producing skilled graduates ready to step into vital roles.
Swinburne University’s design combines innovation with hands-on learning. Students will experience real-world scenarios and work collaboratively across disciplines, bridging theory and practice.
The new facility strengthens Victoria’s network of training centres and supports the next generation of health and community professionals.
