The Science and Innovation Connector Service has facilitated more than 100 connections for researchers, startups, and businesses since its launch in August. The initiative is designed to help innovators navigate the state’s science ecosystem by providing access to expertise, networks, and support necessary to commercialize ideas.
Demand for the service has been particularly high among startups and entities located in regional Queensland, indicating a strong need for accessible pathways to investment and partnerships. The Connector Service operates as part of a 15-year strategy focused on driving innovation, commercialization, and job creation across the state.
Queensland Chief Scientist Professor Kerrie Wilson highlighted the importance of collaborative partnerships between government, researchers, and industry in translating scientific discoveries into practical outcomes. The service aims to remove geographic barriers, ensuring that innovators from locations ranging from Cairns to Birdsville can access necessary resources.
